2007 Year-End Contest Winners!
Congratulations to Martin Marion - our Watch 'Em Drop Winner!
My name is Martin Marion. I am a 29 year old from Russell, Ontario, Canada. I have been bow and crossbow hunting since the age of 15, following in my father's footsteps. Choosing a broadhead was always a difficult decision to make because there are so many options. This year, when I saw your product for the first time, I immediately decided to give it a shot. I bought the Grim Reaper Razortip and used the 100 grain cups. In our neck of the woods, we hunt moose and deer. I went moose hunting the first week of October in Northern Ontario and was lucky to call in a moose and bring him up to 12 yards, where he gave me a broadside shot on the morning of October 2nd 2007. I was amazed to see what the Grim Reaper broadhead did. Immediately after the shot was placed, I noticed copious amount of blood coming out from the entry and exit holes. To my surprise, I saw him drop not even 30 yards from where he was shot. You can imagine the excitement! The bull had a 50 ½ inch rack and weighted 950 pounds. I wasn't quite convinced yet, but after the following deer hunt success, I will never buy any other broadhead. On December 10, 2007 I went deer hunting on a piece of crown land not too far from home. You won't believe what happened. I had two deer tags left, one for a doe and one for a buck. I decided to end my hunting season that day because of the large amount of snow that was coming our way. During that evening hunt, I saw lots of deer. At 16:00 I placed a shot on a nice doe and I also watched her drop, not even 20 yards from where the shot was taken. 15 minutes later, here comes this nice 10 pointer. I also shot him and I saw him drop 10 yards away from the doe and not even 30 yards from where the shot was placed. Yes, I am now a huge fan of your broadheads and will recommend them to all my fellow hunters.
Congratulations to Todd Zippel - our Bone Busting Winner!
Here's a couple pictures of my first Grim Reaper buck. He's a 3 1/2 year old that was 242# live weight and dressed 190#. We weigh all the animals harvested to keep records for our nutritional program. I have shot many bucks in the past, most with a Muzzy, but always had trouble getting them to fly through my cross bow. I hunt from a standing ATV because of an accident that left me paralyzed. The Muzzy did the job, at the end of the blood trail was a deer. But with the Grim Reaper, there was a much shorter blood trail. This particular buck went 45 to 50 yards, hunting from the ground I could not see him go down, but if I were three feet off the ground it would have been different. I'm totally confident in the performance of the Grim Reaper and the ease of getting them to shoot accurately through my crossbow. In closing, I thank you for a broadhead that has no equal.
Congratulations to Joshua Stoica - our Entrance Hole Winner!
It was November 10, 2007. I knew the Ohio rut was in full swing but didn't see many signs of it. I headed to my treestand that I hung the night before and was late getting into the woods that day, a bit concerned but I went ahead with it. I was sitting for about 2 hrs and didn't see a single deer, when all of the sudden I had a coyote come in to my doe bleat. I drew back on him and he busted me while drawing so I continued my bleat/grunt series when behind me I heard a deer trotting and grunting. I turned to my right to see this guy coming down the trail to my right and he continued to go right past me. I hit my grunt again and he stopped and presented a 27-yard shot. I drew and let my 100gr Razortip followed by my Gold Tip Expedition Hunter XT fly right through both of his lungs, he turned and blood shot out of the entrance hole and covered his whole back. He ran 32 yds and that was the end of it. This is one of the many sucess stories I have from the Grim Reaper. Earlier in the year I shot a doe quartering away and only caught the back half of her liver but the internal hemmorging was so severe she only ran 50 yds. These broadheads are NO JOKE! I have switched almost all of my close hunting buddies over to these and they love them just as much. Thanks for producing such a good product.
